Dr Kishan Khemani - Chief Technology Officer
Dr. Khemani is Plantic's Chief Technical Officer and has extensive experience in both academic and commercial/managerial roles as well as substantial R&D experience in the materials, polymers, biopolymers and biomaterials fields. Just prior to joining Plantic, Dr. Khemani worked as project manager and R&D Coordinator at the polymer research laboratories of Eastman Kodak and was the director of the biodegradable polymer and materials division of E.K. Industries and its subsidiary EarthShell Corporation.

Dr. Khemani graduated from Bhagalpur University, India, with first-class honours in M.SCI (Organic Chemistry), and completed his PhD from the University of Western Ontario, Canada. He has worked as a post-doctorate at Wayne State University, Detroit and then as a visiting scientist at the Institute for Polymers and Organic Solids (IPOS) at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Here he collaborated with Professors Fred Wudl and Alan Heegar (Nobel Prize, 2000) conducting research on novel materials including electrically conducting polymers, polymeric glues, and Fullerenes C60, C70.

Dr. Khemani has been credited with over fifty scientific publications and twelve US patents. In 1997, he edited and published a book entitled Polymeric Foams - Science & Technology and in 2006, he edited and published a book titled Degradable Polymers and Materials - Principles & Practice.
